Deanery Conference

The next Deanery Conference will take place on Wednesday, 25th May at 7pm at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Prestatyn. Our Transition Mentor will be presenting her report on the transition to a Mission Area.

Message from the Transition Mentor

A Mentor’s role is to accompany individuals or groups and to help them discern the way forward in any given situation. A Transition Mentor accompanies people through a period of change.

I am here for a short period, during which I will spend time listening to people about the issues involved in becoming a Mission Area. I will also be producing a report with recommendations for opportunities for St Asaph’s parishes to work together in mission. Continue reading

Transition Mentor Meetings – Prestatyn

Canon Ann Ashcroft, our newly appointed Transition Mentor, would like to hold a couple of open meetings where you can discuss all things ‘Mission Area’ – your ideas and your concerns. These will be Thursday 11th February at 11am at Christ Church and Wednesday 24th February at the Church of the Holy Spirit during the coffee morning following the Midweek Communion.

Address by Robin Oake – “Father Forgive”

St Asaph Mission area are hosting an evening at St Thomas’ Church in Rhyl on Tuesday 22 March 2016. Our guest speaker is Robin Oake, retired Chief Constable of the Isle of Man and father to Stephen Oake, a member of Special Branch in Manchester who was murdered on duty by a terrorist attack on Tuesday 14 January 2003.  Following his son’s untimely death, Robin Oake, a practising Christian who has written several books about his life and career in the police force, publicly forgave the man who had killed Steve, and wrote a book about this tragic interlude in his and his family’s lives and how it was that he was able to forgive him – his book and the title of his address is “Father Forgive”…how to forgive the unforgivable.

Mission Area Quiz Night

The annual St Asaph Mission Area Quiz Night will be held on Monday 1st February 2016 at Rhyl Golf Club, starting promptly at 7pm. Teams may contain up to 6 members, the entrance fee is £1.50 per person. Meals are available at £5.50.

Forms, meal choices and payment are required by Monday 25th January.
